Does it hurt to turn your head when checking your blind spot, reach up to wash your hair, or lie on one shoulder at night? At AA Clinics, Dr. Anthony El Asmar, physiotherapist and osteopath, assesses neck and shoulder pain. Your visit starts with the movement that matters most to you and what you want to get back to doing comfortably.
Neck And Shoulder pain treatment at AA Clinics
What is Neck And shoulder pain
Neck and shoulder pain is discomfort or stiffness in the neck, across the top of the shoulder, or around the shoulder blade. It may feel like a dull ache or a sharp pain when you move, making everyday activities like turning your head or reaching overhead uncomfortable.
How we treat neck and shoulder pain at AA Clinics
At AA Clinics, Dr. Anthony El Asmar combines physiotherapy, hands-on care, and guided exercise to help you move more comfortably and return to the activities that matter to you. Treatment begins with an assessment of your neck, shoulder, and arm to understand what brings on your pain and which movements are difficult.
Your treatment plan may include:
Hands-on treatment. When appropriate, Dr. El Asmar uses gentle joint movements and soft-tissue techniques to help ease stiffness and make movement more comfortable.
Targeted exercises. You practise exercises chosen for your symptoms and goals. If turning your head while driving is difficult, you may start with comfortable neck movements. If reaching overhead is painful, you may work on shoulder mobility and gradually build strength for lifting.
A home plan. You learn which exercises to do between visits and how to adjust activities that aggravate your symptoms, whether that’s working at a laptop, carrying your child, or returning to the gym.
At follow-up visits, we reassess the movements you found difficult and adjust your plan as you progress.
